Greta 2.0
A fast-paced, collaborative project developed for the interactive theater experience of Sisters.
Year :
2024
Project Duration :
3 weeks

Overview:
Greta 2.0 is an interactive Kiosk-style AI chatbot developed for the interactive theater experience of the Sisters play at Northern Stage.
Sisters by Matthew Libby explores the relationship between Matilda and her AI sister, Greta, exploring themes of connection and isolation. Our team at DALI Lab partnered with Northern Stage to create the interactive Greta 2.0 bot, allowing the audience to engage offstage with the AI character.
Team: Cinay Dilibal, Selena Zhou, Eljo Kondi, Jemely Robles, Ryan Kim, Ramina Askarova, Avery Sutherland, Yvonne Chen
Deliverables:
Web application
Interactive AI chatbot
User-based kiosk system

3D Modeling & Animation
I used Autodesk Maya to model Greta 2.0, which features an interlocking ring design with minimalistic spotlights and ambient lighting to enhance the AI-inspired aesthetic. For animation, I created smooth transitions between speaking, listening, and idle phases using keyframe animation, with loops for seamless transitions. I also used After Effects to add additional visual effects, enhancing Greta's presence, and the final renders were optimized for real-time performance in the kiosk setup.
